The real breakthrough, as Brian Wilson asserts himself in the studio as both songwriter and arranger on a set of material that was much stronger than Surfin' Safari. Besides the hit title track and its popular drag-racing flip side ("Shut Down"), this has a lovely, heartbreaking ballad ("Lonely Sea") and a couple of strong Brian Wilson originals ("The Noble Surfer" and "Farmer's Daughter")

Here is my alternate version of the Beach Boys' first studio album, Surfin' Safari. Originally released on October 1st, 1962, Surfin' Safari included the band's first single (Surfin'), as well as the titular single, of which pushed its way to on the charts on June 4th, 1962, propelling the group on their way to fame. Following that comes the two final tracks: "Barbie" and "What is a Young Girl Made Of", originally released as a single in 1962 by Kenny and the Cadets, a group consisting of Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, mother Audree Wilson, and producer Bruce Morgan. Over the years, the two tracks have come to be known as Beach Boys songs through various bootlegs, and so they shall be referred to as here.

In the first verse, the band grabs some honeys and loads up the woody with some boards, setting the stage for the surfin' safari with some hip lingo.
