Far From Home, released in 1994, is the eighth and final studio album by the rock band Traffic, and the first in two decades since the release of When the Eagle Flies in 1974. It was recorded at a large house called Woodstock, outside Kilcoole to the south of Dublin, and mixed at the Chateau Miraval in Correns, southern France.
Nowhere Is Their Freedom. Far From Home (CD, Album, Unofficial).
Far From Home is not a bad album at all and when one was struggling to find decent 90's material, thankfully Traffic came up with this new studio effort. If I had to comapre this say witha Yes album out of the 90's I would have to say Traffic would win hands down. Compared also to ealier works the production is slick, tight and well polished. While "Far From Home" is a pleasant surprise for the band fans, seeing Winwood and Capaldi team-up unexpectedly to record this album in mid-1990s, it fails short in providing any substantial musical adventure. Its impeccable production and musicianship keeps being restrained within a confines of soft, crossover pop jazz-soul style similar to Winwood solo albums from the 1980s.

But the question of whether Winwood and Capaldi could validly constitute Traffic by themselves was not addressed until 1994, 20 years after the group disbanded, when the two surprisingly announced they would be recording and touring under their old band name. The album they made together sounded for the most part like a Winwood solo album. He played most of the instruments and sang (Capaldi drummed and sang occasional backup vocals), and he didn't show much interest in the lengthy instrumental passages that characterized Traffic in its heyday
