I actually got the album about a week early before the official release date of October 2nd, 2007 because I went to their album release show. Not only was the show insane (bloody nose, cut face, broken glasses) but when I popped the CD entitled End Of Days in my CD player, I fell like punching something. Although their musicianship isn’t pushing the envelope or anything phenomenal; it was insanely brutal. I had recently bought Emmure’s Goodbye To The Gallows and that was my heaviest album. This was more catchy than Emmure and just as brutal

A gruesome inception and a vicious army of fans - that’s all it’s taken hardcore punk to survive twenty years on the underground, much like the two animals battling it out in monochrome on this album’s cover art. Never has that penchant for taking the extreme road faded; Madball urges us to infiltrate the system, Sick of it All brings death to tyrants and Long Island’s Soldiers proclaim the End of Days
The group’s debut album, End of Days, contains 12 tracks of brutal riffs that are crushing yet bouncy, much in the style of hardcore bands such as Terror. Although it may be too explicit and is admittedly a little short, End of Days is a solid debut. The first thing listeners are likely to notice about Soldiers’ debut is how overly explicit the vocalist is. His screaming is full of bite, and is on par with the majority of other vocalists among the New York hardcore scene. As one of the selling points of this album is that it features members of This is Hell, it is unclear whether Soldiers is more than just a side project. But despite that, End of Days is a competent debut that leaves plenty of room for expansion. Although they could use some longer songs and a little less explicit lyrics (or at least ones that don’t sound as though the band is throwing them in because they can’t think of anything else), Soldiers is still off to a good start.

The production on End of Days is its most distinguishing characteristic, giving the guitars a metallic overtone even though there isn't really any metal riffage going on. The percussion has that "drumstick hitting a big paper bag" quality that reminds me of crust-punk like Doom and Antischism, but doesn't take anything away from the music. The vocals of "singer" Rick Jimenez erupt in angry, mildly distorted shouts that sound terribly painful on the throat. I'll be the instrument of truth. While exceptionally short songs are generally the fastest, most blistering tracks on an album, the 53-second "Nothing More, Nothing Less" is in contrast measured and steady, more suited for head-bobs than circle pits and ending with a verse of rap-like a cappella.
