Wonderful sound cost me 49 cents in a used book store. The cover picture and words "dance music" describe well the sound on 7 tracks. Track B2 is partially "cows coming home" sound effects. The track labels generate many questions. Some answers: track A2 is correctly labeled, the words "Halt Appezäller" are in the vocal. So the LP sides have the right labels on them. Track A3 is a Waltz and track A4 a Schottisch (an Alpine Schottisch properly played at the speed Americans call Polka). Track B1 is a Waltz. Track B3 is an Alpine polka (Schottisch to American ears). Track B4 is the same Waltz recording as is on A3.The questions: Did Decca swap the A3 & A4 tracks by accident? Did Edelweiss then send back one of the tapes and say "this should be on track 4", so Decca cut it on track B4?Someone who knows more about Swiss folk tunes than I do may have more or better answers.Anyway, I thought I was buying 8 different tracks for 49 cents but got only 7. That is still a wonderful deal!
