Atomizer is the debut full-length album by American punk rock group Big Black released in 1986. All previous releases by the band were EPs. Atomizer is accompanied by liner notes that explain the stories behind many of the songs. The album cover is inspired by the Warner Bros. Cartoons art of animator Chuck Jones. The most popular song on the album and possibly by Big Black, "Kerosene", has a shaky guitar line that gives it an odd appeal and a slower rhythm than most Big Black songs.

1. Jordan, Minnesota Lyrics. Atomizer is the first full-length album released by the Illinois noise rock band Big Black. This is the band’s first recording since bassist Jeff Pezzati left in late 1984 to work more closely with his other group, Naked Raygun. Pezzati was replaced by Dave Riley, an audio engineer who worked closely with c.

Instrumentally, Atomizer is a wailing behemoth of assaultive Roland beats, Steve Albini and Santiago Durango's clanging and whirring guitars, and new member Dave Riley's lumberjack bass. Their musical invention went a couple steps further, most obviously on the ition guitars of "Passing Complexion" and "Kerosene.

Atomizer is a 1986 album by the American punk rock group Big Black. The LP is accompanied by liner notes that explain the stories behind many of the songs The most popular song on the album and possibly by Big Black, "Kerosene", has a shaky guitar line that gives it an odd appeal and a slower rhythm than most Big Black songs. One song from the album, "Big Money", was released as a B-side to the "Il Duce" single prior to the release of Atomizer. Homestead Records also issued "Big Money" and "Il Duce" the A-side of a 12" record with three live songs on the B-side (including the live version of "Cables" that would appear on Atomizer) with the agreement that the 12" be used for promotional purposes only.

Though cliché to say, the album really does what it says in atomizing all traces of conventional pop and alternative music, and instead chooses to serve it up pulped and blended in a barbed wire chalice. It is a disgusting and at times strangely horrific mix but it really works, and is perfectly complimented by Albini's tortured and helpless screams and yells throughout.

Big Black "Atomizer" This is very unpleasant. Right off the bat, it just feels really unpleasant and painful. Big Black is immensely appealing to a 13-year-old in the midwest for a couple reasons. First, he spends a lot of his time just hating on small-town midwest. Both on a specific type of dumb American, but also just the lengths people will go to entertain themselves in places that are cultural voids.
