The roots of David Wax Museum stretch back nearly a decade, and all the way from New England to Mexico. Back in Boston, he met fiddler/singer Suz Slezak, whose love of traditional American and Irish folk music fused with Wax’s Mexo-Americana into a singular, energetic blend that captivated audiences and critics alike. They earned an invitation to return to Newport, this time on the main stage, as well as dates supporting The Avett Brothers, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Buena Vista Social Club, and more. It was on the road over these past few years as the band and audiences grew, though, that Wax could feel their exuberant live show evolving beyond its formative roots.

We are David Wax and Suz Slezak, the ringleaders of the cohort of musicians you've come to know and love as the David Wax Museum. We started the band in Boston back in 2007, and have tirelessly toured the country and beyond for the past eight years. Many of you have been part of this journey since the early days, and in many ways this album was made for you. You've fed us, housed us, and come out to shows in rain or shine, and it is because of you that we're still able to make a life in music. Thank you for the incredible support you've already given us.
