Jay and the Americans. Produced by Gerry Granahan. Album Livin' Above Your Head. Livin' Above Your Head Lyrics. Seems so strange You're putting me through changes. Baby, I can't believe that you're the same Sweet girl, that I once knew Baby, the change has come about And it don't look too good on you. It seems so strange You're putting me through changes Baby, you've started doin' Things you should not be doin'. 1. Livin' Above Your Head. 6. The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore. J. Jay and the Americans.

Livin' Above Your Head," authored by Sanders, Vance, and Black, was a much bigger European hit for the Walker Brothers, considerably better than the group's own single, which peaked at number 76. They also crossed paths with a pair of young musicians from the New York area, Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, who became regular session players and increasingly prominent in the group's work. This was a surprisingly ambitious album for Jay & the Americans, featuring three strong originals among its 11 numbers, which included covers of such contemporary pop hits as "Monday, Monday" (done with astonishing depth by Jay Black) and their version of "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore. This is very much a pop release more than a rock & roll album, with the orchestral arrangements dominating and a certain smoothness keeping the group from ever showing much of an edge.
