Complete your Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup collection. By 1962 when Crudup did this - his first album - he'd been on the scene for decades. His songs "That's All Right (Mama)" and "My Baby Left Me" was part of the fresh approach that catapulted Elvis Presley to stardom, but Crudup wrote the songs back in the 40's. By 1962 Crudup had been retired from music industry - partly in frustration over not getting paid enought for writing these much covered songs - but came back musically very strong.

Previously both artists had only done 2- or 4-track sessions released on 78 RPM's, but with Robinson both artists did lengthier sessions resulting in two great albums in 1960 and 1962 respectively. Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup was a wonderful delta blues singer and guitarist. He is best known outside blues circles for writing songs later covered many times, such as "That's All Right", "My Baby Left Me" and "So Glad You're Mine. This one is from the beginning of his recording career, from the year 1942. I hope owners of the rights want to see this as an honor to this fine artist. And same goes to these random photos, which I have found from net. My hope is that everyone can just listen to this great musician.
