The Delta Police Pipe Band was formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. Since the Band's inception, it has grown to its present strength of 30 pipers and 20 drummers. The Band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Steve Ramsden and Drum Major Moe Coll. The band uniform is complemented by the Ancient Smith Tartan, worn in honour of the Band's cofounder, the late Chief Constable . The band proudly represents the Delta Police Department and the Corporation of Delta, at home and around the world.

The Vancouver Police Pipe Band has spent the last 100 years entertaining people around the globe, while at the same time acting as ambassadors for their country, province and city. As the world’s oldest, continuous serving police pipe band and official band of the City of Vancouver, with a regional population in excess of . million people, they are continually called upon to play for charity and community events, visiting royalty, heads of state and celebrities. In January 2014, the Mayor awarded Vancouver’s highest honour to the men and women of the Band – the Freedom of the City Award

The Vancouver Police Pipe Band has since performed on behalf of the city and has brought national and international recognition to Vancouver. The band has appeared in numerous performances, charities, and civic events annually, and has travelled around the world on over 30 trips and tours representing Vancouver, British Columbia, and Canada. These trips are fully funded by the band and the majority of the funding is raised through corporate sponsorship. Honoured with awards.
