Bob Marley and the Wailers were a Jamaican reggae band and, earlier, a ska vocalist group created by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. The ska vocalist group Wailers were formed when self-taught musician Hubert Winston McIntosh (Peter Tosh) met the singers Neville Livingston (Bunny Wailer), and Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) in 1963. By late 1963 singers Junior Braithwaite, Beverley Kelso, and Cherry Smith had joined the Wailers, who was comped by music studio bands. The Album released: 2010. This brief collection of pre-Island sides by Bob Marley & the Wailers hardly helps in clarifying their early discography, which has become a veritable mare's nest of licensing deals and one-off reissues, usually with the same set of songs. We are told on the cover of this compilation that it covers the JAD years, which in a way it does, but mostly it doesn't. JAD was the label co-run by Johnny Nash and Danny Sims to which Marley signed a songwriting contract in 1968, leading to a series of demos, but no official releases

Bob Marley & The Wailers – Uprising. Uprising was the last album by Bob Marley to be released in his lifetime. The day it reached the shops on 1 June 1980, Marley and the Wailers opened for Fleetwood Mac at the 69,000-capacity Reitstadion in Munich. It was the second night of the Uprising tour, a European trek which took them to some of the biggest venues on the continent and to several countries they hadn’t played before, including Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland and Italy  . Much like Survival before it, Uprising was a deep and serious collection of songs that explored fire and brimstone themes of sin and salvation. In ‘Real Situation’ it seemed as if the apocalypse was at hand.

Nesta Robert Marley OM (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981), more widely and commonly known as Bob Marley, was a Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician.
