Radiohead Live From A Tent In Dublin. 1. The National Anthem.
Radiohead's Thom Yorke live in Dublin, June 6. The gig saw the frontman debut a brand new song, 'Super Collider', a sweetly melodic piano ballad in the vein of 2001 B-side 'Fog'. Radiohead in Dublin, June 6. The biggest crowd reaction of the night was for 'How To Disappear Completely', the lyrics of which were originally inspired by an existential crisis following a gig in Dublin. Friday night went smoothly but Saturday saw the band beset by technical gremlins.
With a shimmying Thom Yorke at the helm and an extra drummer thrown in for good measure, Radiohead performed during the season 37 premiere of "Saturday Night Live" this weekend.
Radiohead last served as Saturday Night Live's musical guests to promote their Kid A album in 2000.
Last night, Radiohead showed up on the season premiere of SNL, their first appearance on that particular television institution since 2000. Alec Baldwin hosted for a record setting 16th time, which meant Steve Martin showed up too. Radiohead sadly didn’t appear in any Lonely Island sketches, but they did perform the King Of Limbs single Lotus Flower and the unreleased track Staircase.
Radiohead will open the 37th season of Saturday Night Live next month, and an episode hosted by (who else?) Alec Baldwin. This will mark the band's second appearance on the show, after appearing in support of Kid A back in 2000. As previously reported, Radiohead will release a 19-track double album, titled TKOL RMX 1234567, on October 11. The album will compile all of the remix singles that the band have been releasing throughout the summer.
They did a full-on New York media assault, appearing on Saturday Night Live, the Colbert Report and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, in addition to two shows at Roseland Ballroom. The song was first heard live in 2001, though at the time it was called "Being Pulled Apart By Horses.
