A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is the debut studio album by American rock band Panic! at the Disco. Produced by Matt Squire, the album was released on September 27, 2005, on Decaydance and Fueled by Ramen. The group formed in Las Vegas in 2004 and began posting demos online, which caught the attention of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. Wentz signed the group to his own imprint label, Decaydance, without them having ever performed live.

At the Disco’s claim to fame, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, was released September 27th, 2005. Recording began in June 2005, so the band didn’t have much time to put together their debut. Frontman Brendon Urie says: Every song that we wrot. ade it. We didn’t think about writing a bunch of songs and picking the best ones. We had to just make the best songs we ever wrote. The album was heavily influenced by the works of novelist Chuck Palahniuk. Panic! observed that other pop punk bands, such as Fall Out Boy, were using long song titles.

Housed in a gatefold sleeve. Tracks listed 1 to 13 on labels and sleeve.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Fueled by Ramen. The genre's always had some irritating characteristics, but this newest batch of heartbroken heartthrobs has managed to build their careers solely out of those characteristics. The whining, the emotionally exposed lyrics, and the passionate choruses are there, but there's no sincerity, creativity, or originality.

Album · 2005 · 13 Songs. Panic! At the Disco initially casts a familiar punk-pop spell typified by singer Brendon Urie on the snarky stand-out "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage. But the band quickly busts the envelope of expectations wide open with the prog-meets-punk ethos of "Camisado," the Queen-channeling "Intermission" and the grand, genre-bending conceits of "But Its Better If You Do" and "Build God, Then We'll Talk.
