Their second album Just Drove Thru Town was also recorded at Mandrill Studios from June 18–30, 1979. The Album was produced by Jay Lewis and engineered by Glyn Tucker Jnr. Two singles were released from the album, "Rust In My Car"/"Dig That Tex" and "No Stereo"/"SOS". After the band moved to Australia, Mike Chunn left the band, and was replaced by Roland Killeen. Eventually the band broke up in 1982. On Friday 27-May-2016, Citizen Band reformed for a one-off concert at the inaugural Sounds Session organised by The Sound radio station at the Tuning Fork in Auckland. Tickets could only be obtained by winning them from the radio station via a TXT message sent when an earlier named New Zealand song was played (May is New Zealand Music Month).

In the UK Citizen Band were formed after C/O/R/D was no longer with Island records. All members are from Norwich, and consist of James Leeds - vocals, keys, guitar; Andrew Walsh - bass; Mike Jackson - guitar, keys, vocals; Phil Davison - drums, vocals. In 1977, brothers Mike and Geoff Chunn decided to form a band around Geoff's compositions.

After the NZ tour, the band travelled to Sydney and CBS Records Australia released the album Just Drove Thru Town and the single ‘Rust In My Car’. The band scored support slots with groups including Dragon, Hello Sailor and Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons. The group used the CBS-owned Waltham Recording Studio in North Sydney to rehearse new songs with titles such as ‘Home Tonight’, ‘Chinese Children’ and ‘Roo Bars’.

The second album "Just Drove Through Town" was produced at Mandrill by visiting American Jay Lewis. Released in August 1979 on CBS, it also made the charts reaching number 18. To promote the album, the band undertook a national tour, finishing at the Auckland Town Hall. The concert there was such a riotous event that further rock concerts at that location were banned immediately. Two singles from the album emerged in 1979. They were "Rust In My Car"/"Dig That Tex" and "No Stereo"/"SOS"  . The end came when Brent Eccles successfully auditioned for the Australian band, the Angels, in 1981. At that point Citizen Band called it a day. New Zealand Music.
