Hollywood Vampires is the third studio album by the American glam metal band . Guns, released in 1991. While no track from the album topped the charts (and the band's success declined soon afterwards as their style fell out of commercial favor), Hollywood Vampires presents various shades of the band and is representative of the late 1980s/early 1990s heavy metal scene, with riff-laden songs and big choruses on every song

Hollywood Vampires Tracklist. 1. Over the Edge Lyrics. Released June 25, 1991, Hollywood Vampires is the third studio album from glam metal band, . The album peaked at Number 42 in the Billboard charts on July 13, 1991. The timing of the album’s release precluded its success. Grunge rock’s arrival from Seattle in the late 1980’s, the . Guns' flashy, sexy Sunset Strip persona became void of commercial value. The majority of tracks on Hollywood Vampires resemble the sound of the time period: sexually powerful layers of guitar, drums, bass, and the occasional keyboard. Hollywood Vampires Q&A.

Guns' third album, Hollywood Vampires, shows some signs of stagnation for the Californian sleaze rock band. Although there are handful of strong songs, usually powered by greasy riffs, a fair majority of the album sounds processed, as if the band were aiming for a Top 40 crossover hit, much like Cocked & Loaded's "The Ballad of Jayne. And they almost got that success with "It's Over Now," but the song sounded forced, like most of the power ballads on the album.

LA Guns third album "Hollywood Vampires" (1991) is perhaps the most underrated album in the band's catalogue. It was released at the very tail end of the pop-metal era that dominated the 80s and early 90s, right before the onslaught of the grunge revolution. Its singles unfortunately never really got a healthy run on the radio because in just a few short months of its release, Nirvana's "Nevermind" changed all the rules and the LA Guns were left out in the cold. If "Hollywood Vampires" had been released just a year earlier, and gotten a good push, it could have maintained the momentum that the band built with its first two albums and even expanded their fan base. Instead, "Hollywood Vampires" ended up as an also-ran that has been largely forgotten. If you are a fan of the bands first two album and missed "Hollywood Vampires" the first time around, this CD is highly recommended.
