Thankfully, his music was still tasty pop candy – six of these songs hit the Top Five on the singles charts. I Want Your Sex" is one of the decade's finest Prince imitations, and the best ballad is the spooky, soulful "Father Figure.

Not to mention that the album was extremely innovative in it's sound, sound design, and in it's concepts and ideas. This came out at a time on political unrest in Britain with it's economy transferring from one of manual labor to services, which was a uncertain time for many young adults who had hard times finding jobs. It had a genius marketing campaign: the album has no official pronounceable title, the band or label name was not printed on the cover, only the song listing, mysterious pictures of an old hermit and the lyrics for "Stairway to Heaven", signifying that names don't matter, only the music. The production quality is crystal clear and even Led Zeppelin themselves couldn't replicate this sound afterwards and every song is a masterpiece although the side 2 of the album is often overlooked.
