Matthew Florianz, born in the 70's to a Dutch Mother and Austrian Father, an explorer of ambient environmental soundscapes. His music evokes an outdoor feel, his album shifting between a state of illusive imagination and existent images. Matthew's first musical experiments (1994) where played to an audience of friends and relatives most of it was practice; finding style, tone and even the right notes, it was really rather derivative of the music I liked back then a necessary learning to find out what kind of music (if any) . .Koude Handen released in 2010 marked the departure from releasing on physical media and Los (2011) was recorded specifically with an online release in mind. It is the first album since The Tone T(h)ree (2000) that does not include any environment recordings.

Matthew Florianz is a Dutch ambient composer. His works range between different styles of ambient, working together with other composers including Erik t'Sas & Joris de Man among others, with the "classical ambient" feel all present. In 2008 Florianz released his latest piece, Maalbeek, taking us on an hour long epic journey into the shaded side of ambient music.

It’s funny mentioning them together, because their music is quite different. But all have their own definite ‘brand’ that identifies their music, all work tirelessly on their music, and – finally – all get international recognition for their works’ quality. Most of his earlier releases were issued on the H/S Recordings label, but (like the previous album Koude Handen ) Los is self-released and offered as a (FREE!) digital download.
