Mother Gong - Fairy Tales download mp3

Fairy Tales is a music studio album recording by MOTHER GONG (Psychedelic/Space Rock/Progressive Rock) released in 1979 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. No release results - showing artist results instead. Glastonbury 79-81 Voiceprint Uk 2005.
Gong's 1970 debut album, Magick Brother featured a psychedelic pop sound. By the following year, the second album, Camembert Electrique, featured the more psychedelic rock/space rock sound with which they would be most associated. Between 1973 and 1974, Gong released their best known work, the allegorical Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy, describing the adventures of Zero the Hero, the Good. This incarnation soon became known as Pierre Moerlen's Gong. Meanwhile, Smyth formed Mother Gong while Allen initiated a series of spin-off groups, including Planet Gong, New York Gong and Gongmaison, before returning to lead Gong once again in 1990 until his death in 2015 Contents.
Fairy Tales is Mother Gong's first album, released 1979. All three tracks are popular fables told by Gilli Smyth. Fairy tales may be distinguished from other folk narratives such as legends (which generally involve belief in the veracity of the events described) and explicitly moral tales, including beast fables. In less technical contexts, the term is also used to describe something blessed with unusual happiness, as in "fairy tale ending" (a happy ending) or "fairy tale romance" (though not all fairy tales end happily)

An all-star gathering convened by Mother Gong's Gilli Smyth, Fairy Tales is theoretically a children's storybook album. All three tracks are based upon and, indeed, offer straightforward renderings of the popular fables The Pied Piper, The Three Tongues, and Wassilissa (Baba Yaga). But anybody familiar with Smyth's techniques through the world of the original Gong mother ship will know that all is never what it seems.
