Every Man Dies (Axel Lettham 2005 Remix). Remix – Axel Lettham. The intro uses a constant cadenza of 2 sounds, a saw synth and a more pluck-ish type of sound, both used to play a short pattern every 2 bars, changing every so many bars, sometimes just a bit, sometimes completely, whilst maintaining the same basic sounds.

Although this record has Marcos & JK Walker written all over it, it is in fact a production by completely different people. The 2005 version, a massive hard trance anthem, is probably the most well-produced of the 2, delivering a stunning bass line which has both a syncopatic, and pumping quality to it. The intro uses a constant cadenza of 2 sounds, a saw synth and a more pluck-ish type of sound, both used to play a short pattern every 2 bars, changing every so many bars, sometimes just a bit, sometimes completely, whilst maintaining the same basic sounds. In the very short breakdown, we find some wonderful cut-up breakbeat percussion, and apart from a killer melody and build-up, the tune really captivates the more rhythmically oriented among you, with aggressive kick and percussion edits, not unlike those used by DJ Scot Project. In short, it might be from 2005, but is a timeless track, which will still work in dj sets even 200 years from now.The original mix is melodically almost the same, albeit much more trancey, so it doesn't sound quite as bangin' as the 2005 mix. Nevertheless, because (like the 2005 mix) the melody and build-up is so awesome, it will be a good track to mix in your trance-minded sets.
